This is a wonderful piece~~!! Why? I'll tell you why. I honestly believe that the two portraits of greatest importance that anyone can take of are youngsters and the elderly. Youngsters because it will capture youth, and elderly in remembrance of a person that was motivated enough and had enough courage in their heart to make it all the way from their youth to then. It may be slightly biased, but it's my solid opinion.
As for this photo, I love that it's in black and white. perhaps a very very pale version of it would look just as nice, but I love the black and white. Her skin is clearly of a medium complexion, which make the wrinkles and lighting stand out sooooo much more, enhancing the title "Old Age".
Her expression and the model herself is a great one at that, even if it was a spontaneous shot, it still portrays a message to me at least.) Perhaps I'm reading too much into it like others but that's alight! xD) her expression is a solid one, eye contact and determination in that stare. Solid eyes staring straight at you as though standing ground, saying, "Yes, I'm still here. After all these years. I have survived. And I am still here." Shows the maturity of it all.
Overall, I enjoyed this piece, and had I not, I wouldn't have snuck down to the critique button as I'm falling asleep hahaha~
Very well done. I congratulate you on this piece. : )
